Valley Distribution & Logistics (VDL), is a young and growing Third Party Logistics Company founded in Memphis, TN with a vision of full North American coverage within 3 years.  We began operations in 2018 as a division of Vanguard Soap (a 3rd generation contract manufacturer in Memphis) but have quickly grown by taking on new customers that need our brand of customer service and focus.  This growth has allowed us the opportunity to separate from Vanguard Soap and become a standalone entity.

Our distribution company's leadership team needs a motivated, results-driven Sales Executive to help establish our short- and long-term sales plans as well as develop the long-term sales and marketing vision. The successful candidate will understand what motivates customers to utilize our services and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way. This Sales Executive will report directly to the President of VDL and will collaborate with our President and Operations team to ensure growth. If you are competitive, financially motivated and capable of developing sales strategies in the warehousing and logistics markets, we're excited to talk with you.

  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the sales vision and manage the sales program accordingly
  • As we continue to grow and expand, develop and monitor sales growth in new markets
  • Reach out daily to new prospects in all markets
  • Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company's relationship with them
  • Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to capture key demographics
  • Utilize social media to develop prospect list of small to medium startup companies.

To be successful in this role, you must have the following background and demonstrated skillsets:

  • 10+ years Sales Management experience in a small to medium third-party warehousing, transportation, or logistics field.
  • Proven results in driving new sales through prospecting and developing relations with existing customers
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a sales and marketing long-term vision
  • Ability and desire to learn to how our business is different from other models and market those strengths to new prospects.
  • Strong social media presence and desire to grow our internet marketing and social media presence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sales and Marketing degree is required and advanced degree is preferred
