Valley Distribution & Logistics (VDL), is a young and growing Third Party Logistics Company founded in Memphis, TN with a vision of full North American coverage within 3 years.  We began operations in 2018 as a division of Vanguard Soap (a 3rd generation contract manufacturer in Memphis) but have quickly grown by taking on new customers that need our brand of customer service and focus.  This growth has allowed us the opportunity to separate from Vanguard Soap and become a standalone entity.

We're looking for an highly analytical, organized, and driven Accountant to join the growing team at VDL. The Accountant position will work closely with our President and operations personnel and handle day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. We're an energetic company and are looking for a passionate individual to join our organization and help us develop our record keeping systems and processes and bring more organization to our day to day financials.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
  • Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation and analysis
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Oversee taxes and abide by federal regulations

To be successful in this role, you must have the following background and demonstrated skillsets:

  • 5+ years accounting experience
  • 5+ years in a financial planning and analysis position with a small to medium sized organization
  • Expertise with QuickBooks
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills
  • Additional experience in Audit and Inventory Control
  • Accounting degree is required, and CPA certification is preferred


We prefer to find the correct fit for our organization with someone who has spent at least 3 years with a major accounting firm and 2 5 years in a smaller but growing private company.   Someone who is not afraid to role their sleeves up and invest in their future while bringing new opportunities to help our company grow and succeed.
